Due to complaints all around, "Motion Blur" has been changed to "Macro without Insects or Flowers." Try and capture an exciting macro shot without using flowers or insects. Have fun!

now hold it-- how many of us have the capability to set the exposure time on our cameras? not many, I'd guess. My camera sure won't do that, and without that, it's pretty darn hard to get any blur. Before we jump to the advanced, I think we should think about the others in the group. Mon 7-Mar-2005 18:30

It's a hard call, I don't mind the subject but if you can't set the shutter speed it's pretty hard to do. Mon 7-Mar-2005 21:15
Posted by:Zandt
I can't set my shutter speed, but I get plenty of blurry shots. The trick is the right mix, which will be hard to control with the Mickey Mouse cameras that most of us have. Perhaps Brian should give a less sophisticated alternative for us laymen. Mon 7-Mar-2005 22:30
Posted by:Marisa
yes, I suggest that BeeF gives us an alternative, or even another subject that would be more of a daily object than a specific form or style. Originally, (though I'm not sure if we ever stated this) the idea for kosomo was to have photos (and therefore the subjects) centered around "everyday things/objects" that everyone involved would have access to. We probably should have included this in the charter, but I guess we were to busy with "thou shalt nots".
Hope this clears things up a bit.

Hurrah for the early debate! Let's all get in a fury at the start this time. Tue 8-Mar-2005 00:04
Posted by:Marisa
I agree.I can't set my shutter speed iether. Tue 8-Mar-2005 01:01
Posted by:Famous Amos
Ok, OK! Sorry guys, it didn't occur to me that motion blur would be a difficult subject for most of y'all's cameras to capture.

I'll pick another topic... Hmmmm.... let me see. Let's try macro without insects or flowers.

I thought he said no insects Wed 9-Mar-2005 00:47
Posted by:Famous Amos
why the restrictions, anyway? Wed 9-Mar-2005 01:51
Posted by:roo
Yeah Z I'm normal not a big stickler for the rules, but the subject directly said no insects. Wed 9-Mar-2005 03:15

What do you all think of this verse?8He that committeth sinne, is of the deuill, for the deuill sinneth from the beginning : for this purpose the sonne of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the deuill.
9Whosoeuer is borne of God,doth not commit sinne : for his seede remaineth in him,and he cannot sinne, because he is borne of God.

I think it doesn't have much to do with Macro Wed 9-Mar-2005 06:44
Posted by:Pepe'
Excuse me. I thought that I said "without insects." This is a fairly common macro challenge, designed to get people to think outside of the normal macro box. If I didn't everyone (including me) would be pulling up old macro shots of parts of flowers, or insects on flowers, and that's all we'd have posted. Wed 9-Mar-2005 13:34

What do you live in a garden Marisa? I found about 50 cool things inside my house. Now to narrow it down to just two. Thu 10-Mar-2005 04:44
Posted by:Larlie
Well, Marisa, maybe sometime someone will choose Macro WITH flowers and insects accepted...I bet there are some pretty cool shots out there in this group! But for now, this topic may take a bit more creativity, but it's a good one.
And whoever put up New Leaves...that's one good shot...droplet and all! Keep up the good work all of you!

This is going to be a GOOD week!! There are some really great pics up, I debate if I want to enter a pic at all because then I would have to vote. A good bit of conversation to boot!!! Thu 10-Mar-2005 15:39

Look, I don't want to cause a bit uproar (well, maybe I do), but if I am to be held to posting pictures anonymously (which I've changed my mind about somewhat, and almost like), then so should Zandt be. As a mild-mannered enforcer of rules, I suggest that Zandt should stop signing his pictures, as a matter of politeness and group ethic. Fri 11-Mar-2005 21:08
Posted by:Marisa
Nobody ever said you had to post anon. and really we all have very distinct styles that are pretty easy to spot. So I do not know what the big deal is 0) Fri 11-Mar-2005 21:44
Posted by:Zandt
Yes, that was made a rule in November, Zandt. As for styles, I agree, but keep up with the pretense because asked. Fri 11-Mar-2005 22:42
Posted by:Marisa
I never saw a rule made ? Where is Roo ? Fri 11-Mar-2005 23:37
Posted by:Zandt
That was never made a rule,it was just an idea.Z I don't mean to be obnoxious, but if you can tell whos photos are whos which ones are mine? Sat 12-Mar-2005 02:13
Posted by:Famous Amos
Where is everybody? Sat 12-Mar-2005 04:20
Posted by:Sue
Yeah where is that roo?? I don't remember it being made an official rule either. I know we were supposed to take a vote on it and try posting anonymous for the week it was brought up, but I didn't know it was made a rule. I think we just all started posting anon because everyone else did. Sat 12-Mar-2005 05:24
Posted by:Larlie
I think roo's present location is in a tent, far away from so-called civilization. Most of our rules are unwritten, just the course of the group altered by a request. Perhaps we should demand a formal declaration of rules, or get used to democracy. Sat 12-Mar-2005 22:34

It's what I yell back when someone yells MACRO! Sun 13-Mar-2005 23:53
Posted by:Pepe'
Tune in for the official ruling:......now!

The desicion is: (and sorry for my extended tardiness, it really couldn't be helped) Kosomo participants may or may not let others know whose picture is theirs. It's their choice. Personally, I don't usually have any trouble identifying whose pictures are whose, but sometimes it can be challenging, especially when I start thinking about how I shouldn't do just that. This week was especially hard, and no amos, I don't know which are yours. One more thing; I'll be gone almost all of this week, so please try not to turn things chaotic. (like that'll ever happen!)

Excellent work this week, I'm truly impressed.
Sun 13-Mar-2005 23:56
Posted by:roo
Great edict, roo, and I do (finally) get what you mean, Pepe'.

Commence chaos.
Mon 14-Mar-2005 00:46
Posted by:Marisa
no, no, no! Cease chaos! Let harmony abide. Deep breaths everyone......[breathe in]..........[breathe out]...........now, isn't that better? Mon 14-Mar-2005 02:38
Posted by:roo
Hey!

Y'all did great! I had a hard time voting this week.

I'm already scheming about another weird, different, or unusual topic for next time I win!

I think you know already. Or choose for yourself. Mon 14-Mar-2005 05:10

[my last comment was directed at the comment I made before that, seeing as no one was talking, I was going for the one sided conversation, but aside from all that:] there was an unbelievable occurence tonight on KOSOMO!! Y'all will receive the results shortly (before midnight!!) Mon 14-Mar-2005 05:19

Posted by:roo
did you by chance even read what i said?
Mon 14-Mar-2005 05:39
Posted by:Famous Amos
No need for the brute squad. My camera is already broken. It is now only a point and shoot camera, since a major controlling button no longer works.

Good work, people.
